Surfacing Operative – South Wales Location: South Wales Salary: Competitive Join Our Resurfacing Crew We’re looking for a Surfacing Operative to join one of our South Wales resurfacing gangs. This is a hands-on role where safety, teamwork, and quality are key. Key Accountabilities Work within a gang under the supervision of the Foreman. Share responsibility for safety and produce a defect-free, high-quality product. Assist with day-to-day functions of the gang and operation of plant/equipment. Responsibilities Wear and maintain all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), reporting replacements when needed. Care for and maintain allocated machinery and vehicles, ensuring servicing schedules are met and issues reported promptly. Operate (or learn within 12 months) the following: Paving machine Chipping machine Dumpers Rollers (vibratory and deadweight) Airmaster/Streetmaster loading and excavation shovels Various compressor/electrically powered tools What We’re Looking For Experience in road surfacing OR willingness to learn within 12 months. Strong commitment to safety and quality standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Job Requirements Hold or attain within 6 months all required skill cards (CSCS, CPCS, etc.).
