Facility Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Location Fayetteville, North Carolina Department Radiology Administration Job Family Management Work Shift Days (United States of America) Summary Directs, supervises, and coordinates the functions and activities of Registered Nurses within Radiology Services. Responsible for overall management and coordination of the service to include fiscal resource management, human resource management, resource utilization (labor and medical supplies) and quality of nursing care. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Plans, organizes, and supervises radiology nursing to provide high quality and compassion care Establishes and maintains mechanisms to monitor continuing compliance with The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, NRC, and other regulatory/accrediting agencies' standards Assumes responsibility for continuously assessing and improving performance via participation in Performance Improvement (PI) activities and Quality Control mechanisms Addresses and documents disciplinary issues with nursing staff Complete nursing documentation for patient care rendered, as well as to monitor, adjust and, where possible, to correct negative labor expense variances. Develops, implements and evaluates strategic plans and operations via departmental budgets, Performance Improvement Plan and Radiology Strategic Business Plan Collaborate with nurses daily to identify barriers to patient throughput, intervene to eliminate barriers, and facilitate discharges early in the day Oversee, facilitate and monitor customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with Executive Oversight Team goals and objectives Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: Associate’s of Nursing required Bachelor’s of Nursing preferred Current Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina Current BCLS and ACLS certification AHA (American Heart Association) required Active membership with the Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing (ARIN) or related Nursing Association preferred Work Experience: 3 years’ experience as Radiology RN required 1 year experience as a Radiology Nurse Supervisor or manager in a hospital-based Special Procedures/Angiography department or clinical unit (preferred) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrated leadership characteristics Working knowledge of budgets, staffing, performance improvement as well as regulatory requirements Strong interpersonal skills Knowledge of age-specific considerations for patients served Knowledge of the N.C.
