Service Writer

Boater’s World Marine Centers is expanding our service department in Lake Placid, FL, and we’re looking for a Service Writer to join our growing team. What You’ll Do

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional support
• Document repair needs, unit conditions, and maintenance history
• Create accurate repair orders and estimates using Lightspeed
• Communicate job status updates and approvals throughout the repair process
• Coordinate with technicians, vendors, and the parts department as needed
• Identify additional service opportunities to help customers protect their investment
• Assist with general service office operations and customer follow-up

 This is not a comprehensive list of duties. Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs. 

• Experience as a Service Writer (marine or powersports preferred)
• General knowledge of boats, marine engines, or similar equipment
• Familiarity with dealership software (Lightspeed is a plus)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach

  Working Conditions

• Full-time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Sundays off + one additional weekday off
• Overtime may be required during peak seasons
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that may include bending or reaching
