The RoleAs the Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will be the strategic lead for all H&S activities across both the operational and maintenance teams. You’ll shape policy, guide senior leadership, mentor a growing H&S team, and ensure sites operate to the highest standards of compliance and best practice. This is a senior leadership position with visibility at board level and direct influence over how safety is embedded across the organisation. Key ResponsibilitiesChampion a positive, proactive safety culture aligned with ISO 45001 and all relevant legislationDevelop and implement H&S strategies, policies, and procedures across all departmentsLead and mentor a team of H&S professionals, supporting development and performanceConduct internal audits, workplace inspections, and compliance reviews, driving continuous improvementLead accident and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and regulatory reportingDeliver training to staff at all levels, promoting shared responsibility for safety across the workforceLiaise with external consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance and best practice alignmentYour BackgroundThis role requires somebody who combines technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. You’ll be confident influencing senior stakeholders, supporting site teams, and shaping the future of H&S. Essential Experience & QualificationsNEBOSH General and/or Construction CertificateMembership/accreditation with a recognised industry body (TechIOSH/CertIOSH/MIIRSM) with up‑to‑date CPDProven experience managing or supervising safety professionalsStrong understanding of construction methods and safe systems of work (MEP/PH)Experience conducting complex investigations and working with regulatory bodiesKnowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001Understanding of ESG in line with building practicesKnowledge of integrated management systems
