Senior Accountant Shared Services Finance Team – Supporting Canadian & U.S. Entities Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our shared Finance team, supporting both Canadian and U.S. business operations. In this role, you’ll be a key partner in driving accurate financial reporting, improving processes, and enabling better decision-making across the organization. What You’ll Do: General Accounting: Manage and oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing. Monitor cash flow, prepare weekly AR reviews, and process vendor payments. Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and analyze financial statements, conduct P&L reviews, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations. Month-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and ensure accurate financial records. Payroll Management: Process semi-monthly payroll, remit payroll taxes, and collaborate with the People & Culture team on payroll updates. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process, providing financial insights and recommendations. Audit & Tax Compliance: Prepare working papers for audits, manage tax filings, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies. Process Improvement & Coaching: Assess internal controls, recommend improvements, and mentor junior accounting staff. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred). 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance. Experience with multi-entity operations across various countries is a plus. Nice to have: Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements. Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor, Sage 50) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
