Highlights: Summary The Patient Financial Services Educator shall be responsible to design, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs for team members with regard to current processes, patient accounting best practice, technology including changes and improvements, and identified quality improvement opportunities. In addition, the Educator is responsible to coordinate orientation for all new employees within their defined area, provide training on the various systems used within PFS, processes directly related to their role, and ensure the validation of competency and skill set upon completion of the training. This individual will work in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle leadership to ensure proper and complete training is provided to the employees. The Educator must be able to effectively relay the material provided and train the employees to ensure understanding and comprehension of Revenue Cycle processes, departmental goals, and regulatory requirements. The Educator will ensure quality customer service is provided, assist in audits and goals for the department, complete QA for the staff on an ongoing basis, and provide a consistent level of communication to leadership regarding issues, staff development, and areas for further training. This individual is also responsible to keep up with payer and regulatory proposed and final changes so as to provide education and information to the department. The Educator is responsible to oversee the career ladder for eligible employees to ensure all classes are correctly assigned to the team members relative to their career ladder phase. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years’ revenue cycle experience or patient financial services required. Knowledge of payer and governmental regulatory requirements, coding rules and reimbursement methodologies preferred. License/ Certifications None Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software. Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to remain calm in difficult situations. Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance. Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
