Facility Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Location Fayetteville, North Carolina Department Emergency Department Registration Job Family Management Work Shift Days (United States of America) Summary Responsible for planning, educating, coordinating, and controlling the activities of all admitting, registration, financial counseling, training and scheduling functions within the Medical Center. Primarily concerned with obtaining accurate, complete, and consistent demographic, financial, and clinical data during all registration processes, following up on all scheduled visits that are PFS’s responsibility and managing the authorization and pre-cert process for inpatient and outpatient services.Four to six years Patient Access experience with two to three years in a supervisory position. Must be able to plan, direct, and control Patient Access functions. Must have good command of medical terminology. Must have problem solving abilities. PC experience must include Microsoft Office and Windows. Must be knowledgeable of payer requirements related to Patient Access (CMS, DHHS, BCBS and other Managed Care organizations)Must be able to communicate orally and in writing effectively with patients, doctors, and other departments in the institution.
