Facility Betsy Johnson Hospital Location Dunn, North Carolina Department Laboratory Job Family Allied Health Work Shift Evenings (United States of America) Summary Under the direction of the Technical Specialist and Manager, perform specimen processing functions and non-technical duties as assigned. Works in various areas of the laboratory, registering patients, collecting samples, and assessing the acceptability of samples for testing. Testing includes centrifugation, aliquoting, storage, and shipping. Provides support for clinical testing including preparation of slides, loading instrument, and result reporting. Performs waived and point-of-care testing and phlebotomy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Performs phlebotomy tasks when applicable at job site Accurately receives and logs in specimens Performs processing tasks accurately and efficiently from the receipt of the specimen until delivered to the designated area for analysis, meeting established turnaround times Processes, prepares lists and packages send out specimens Communicates with other departments effectively Performs clerical duties efficiently Performs set-up and misc. micro duties when applicable at job site.
