International BSC Accounting Graduate Trainee Reporting to the International BSC Head of Accounting Purpose of the role The Heidelberg Materials (HM) International Business Service Centre (BSC) provides administrative, transactional and accounting services to in-scope HM companies. The BSC Finance Graduate Trainee team will rotate through a minimum of three placements spending at least 6 months in each role. The trainees will also undertake CIMA training during this period. Key accountabilities Three Core Rotations (all graduates must spend at least 6 months in each of these roles) Transaction Processing Work placement Become a fully productive team member in a transaction processing department. Accurately delivering high volumes of work utilising given processes Deliver good quality responses to queries, and provide excellent customer service Project Identify and deliver at least one continuous improvement initiative. Learning objectives Exposure to and knowledge of our core finance systems Understand the technical complexities and criticality of transactional sub-ledgers. Develop efficiency and optimisation mindset. Reporting and Analytics Work placement Working in the BSC reporting team, refresh and maintain existing reporting suite accurately and within agreed schedules. Adjust and develop existing reports to better suit business needs as required, and work with project teams to build any new reports required. Project Utilising BSC reporting, KPIs and data mining tools, analyse a given business problem use available data to propose solutions. Learning objectives Build expertise in reporting tools. Develop analytical and problem-solving skills. Management Accounting Work placement Work with the International BSC Senior Finance Manager to prepare BSC related accounts, including preparation of accruals and other journals. Assist with planning and forecasting activities. Prepare commentary and present results to BSC directors. Learning objectives P&L and Balance Sheet posting and review. Preparation of content and presentation of data for senior leadership audience Other potential placements will include the following: International Fixed Asset Management International General Ledger Management Project Management System migration / integration RPA / automation projects Process re-engineering. International Consultancy Education/Qualification (should be only Legal ones required) Degree (or predicted) 2:1 Finance & Accounting (or other numeracy related degree). The Graduate trainees will undertake CIMA training alongside the role.
