Housekeeping Supervisors attend to the hotel’s housekeeping needs while providing instruction support for the housekeeping team. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day–to-day housekeeping activities, plan and assign work for team members.
  • Assist with opening and closing of department.  
  • Inspect guest rooms daily and public spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness and maintenance issues. 
  • Provide training to housekeeping associates on room cleanliness.
  • Provide regular feedback to help improve team member performance. 
  • Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas meet the established standards of cleanliness to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenue.
  • Assist in the day–to-day housekeeping activities, plan and assign work for team members.
  • Report all work orders to engineering for any and all problems needing repairs. 
  • Maintain hotel safety and security standards.
  • Assist other housekeeping associates including cleaning guest rooms as needed. 
  • Assist with maintaining supply and linen inventory and stocking of closets.

Specific job knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational and computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities its required.
  • Must be able to accept and give constructive feedback, follow work rules, work as part of a team and get along with others.  

Physical demands:

  • Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like laundry rooms (+110 F) for more than one hour.  
  • Lift and transport up to 70 pounds on a regular and consistent basis, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 250 pounds on a regular and consistent basis. 
  • Constant well-paced mobility, for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Must be able to position self to fulfill cleaning duties.  
Requirements

A high school or equivalent education is required. Minimum of five years of prior facilities management, engineering, or building maintenance experience is required, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.


Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.


Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subjects to disciplinary action, up to and including, separation.
