ABOUT THE ROLE Job Location: Regent Street (London) Status: Full Time, Part-Time, Semi-Time Compensation: Competitive Position Summary: The FOH Host is an important aspect in our guest’s dining experience, as they have the first interaction with our guest(s). The host is responsible for not only welcoming all of our guest(s) in person, but as well as coordinating all reservation requests. While maintaining a positive, energetic, pleasant, and professional demeanor, the Host will ensure the restaurant/café is maximizing covers while prioritizing the guest’s satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities: Engages and connects with guest(s), while always exceeding expectations. Remains up to date on all menu items, to best answer any guest(s) inquiries. Promptly greets and engages all guests, in a friendly and courteous manner, as they enter the café. Answers all phone calls in upbeat and professional manner, while answering any guest(s) inquiries. Accurately coordinates and maintains all reservations. Effectively communicates any noted guest’s food allergies, special request(s) to the Serving and Management teams. Manages the organization of all menus, while effectively communicating any upkeep needs. Accompanies all guest(s) to their assigned tables or seating area. Provides a genuine and welcoming experience to any guest(s) waiting for their table(s). Maintains a safe, organized, clean and presentable Host’s area by, but not limited to sweeping, cleaning or clearing any garbage from the immediate area. They will efficiently communicate any issues that need more involved cleaning efforts. Collect and communicate any guest(s) reactions, comments, or overall suggestions to the Management team. Welcome all exiting guests back to dine with us and thank them for their visit. Special Projects/Tasks: Assist with the planning and execution of any on/off-site events, including but not limited to pop-up events, private guest’s events held outside of normal business hours. Assist in maintaining a safe and organized café, by completing any standard cleaning procedures commonly associated with a food & beverage outpost. REQUIREMENTS Availability: Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays. Availability to consistently work weekends, special projects, drops/releases or as the business’ needs require. Licenses/Certificates: Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety certification or equivalent Experience: 1+ years in a Host position. 1+ years in the Food & Beverage industry. 1+ years in a customer facing role. Experience using Reservations platforms (i.e SevenRooms, Resy, Open Table) Skills & Abilities: Multi-tasking while maintaining an upbeat and professional demeanor Ability to lift and move 25lbs. Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
