Job Title: Global Procurement Director – Personal Care BG Work Level: 3X Location: London, 100VE, UK Line Manager: Corina Cioranu Unilever Procurement is responsible for 38B Euro of material and services spend globally with more than 50,000 suppliers. Getting the right materials, sustainably sourced and ensuring responsible procurement is critical to ensuring our brands with purpose grow. Our teams work closely with the business to understand brand needs, bring supplier innovation to meet changing consumer needs and drive financial value for Unilever through competitive buying. We are at the forefront of digital procurement, bringing new tools and analytics to drive data-based decisions. About Procurement Personal Care Within the Procurement organization, the Personal Care Procurement Lead is responsible for managing a materials spend of €5B, with €1.5B directly bought by the Personal Care team and €3.5B indirectly managed through Power of One Portfolios. The directly managed spend includes Actuators, Cans, AP Salts, Sorbitol and CM, to support the buying needs of Unilever factories and over 80 third party manufacturers globally. The role is also overseeing the collaboration and integration between UOI and PC business, with massive spend (>500M), TO and savings delivery for PC. This position will business partner the Personal Care BG team and is a part of the Personal Care Procurement LT. This position of the PC Proc BG lead will business partner the key global stakeholders in procurement, supply chain, R&D, marketing and finance. Key responsibilities of this role are to drive the key strategic programs by working closely with the rest of Portfolio (dedicated and Po1), Bus, UOI and Sustainability Directors and cross functional teams, namely: 1) deliver competitive buying to the business through A. leading PMI (Procurement Markets Insight) program across the team and B. in-year and long term strategic value creation program 2) achieve the sustainability goals (big focus areas are on Net Zero/GHG Reduction, NDPE and Plastics) in line with corporate commitments and BG priorities 3) drive value chain interventions where there is a value to the business, 4) establish key partnerships for product superiority and innovation; 5) develop and drive a structural resilience plan for the major SKUs in all BUs. 6) drive plastics agenda in close collaboration with packaging Po1 team and R&D. 7) drive Strategy & Insights key programs within the PC procurement team and BG S&I team. This role is also critical in bringing insights to the business regarding competition and how to unlock incremental value to the business because of being externally focused. All of this can only be achieved by developing a high performing team that is externally focused and that promotes a culture of care, value and connect. There is also a high amount of peer-peer connection that will need to be leveraged. The direct role will manage BG innovations, business partnering SC, marketing and finance teams to deliver iTO and Partnerships agenda. Governing key supplier partnerships including annual partnerships events like PTW, Decoration Day etc., ensuring E2E stakeholder alignment and agenda delivery. Main Job Purpose: Lead/develop/empower the BG PC Procurement team to meet the needs of the PC BG strategy. Set and deliver the procurement strategy to achieve better cost, sustainability (plastics and climate) and better partnerships and innovation. Leverage the integration with the PC BG stakeholders to proactively adjust sourcing strategies (in close collaboration with PC Procurement LT) to meet the changing needs of the business, and as well provide the right insights needed to land pricing strategies. Key accountabilities: • Lead/develop/empower the BG PC Procurement team (Direct and indirect Reports) and pioneer a profitable growth culture • Support the business delivery and professional development of the direct reports • Continue evolving the PC Procurement strategy in line with the business strategy and the external market context • Ensure multi-year cost savings programs are implemented successfully by both the portfolio leads and the BU leads • Develop the supplier partnership framework and engagement model to be deployed globally for todays’ and tomorrow’s portfolio • Ensure best in class strategies are in place and reviewed annually and are underpinned by best-in-class negotiation and contracts • Be the expert on how our sourcing strategies are best in class or not versus our competition and being flexible to adjust as needed • Work closely with Procurement / R&D and other teams across all BGs to land the target delivery.
