Art Collection Manager & Market Researcher About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented full-time Art Collection Manager to join our London team within an international multi-family office. A curious, analytical and proactive mindset with a genuine interest in the art world is essential. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting research, market analysis and collection management activities, contributing to projects that bridge art historical inquiry and the contemporary art market. Key Responsibilities Collection Management • Provide administrative support for the care and management of artworks. • Maintain and update collection databases and associated documentation. • Compile accurate reports on location, condition, status, loans and upcoming changes. • Oversee the organisation and digitisation of archives and certificates. • Coordinate logistics for artworks, including supporting colleagues on conservation, insurance, transport, storage, loans and installations. • Liaise with galleries, auction houses, conservators, framers, insurers and shippers. • Monitor auction results and market activity to support valuations, acquisitions and sales. Office & Administrative Management • Liaise with Finance and Compliance on billing, invoicing, onboarding, AML and record keeping. • Coordinate with our Family Office and wider advisory services when required. • Oversee day-to-day departmental administration and ensure effective communication. • Act as the main contact for HR and marketing. • Maintain subscriptions and relevant IT tools. • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the main partner and head of department. • Assist with the movements of artworks from the Fleming Wyfold Foundation within the offices. Research & Marketing • Conduct art historical and market research, including provenance and exhibition history. • Produce accurate, well-organised research materials. • Prepare clear market updates and briefs for internal and client use. • Prepare catalogue notes, research reports and related materials supporting the department’s strategy, acquisitions and sales. • Contribute to the Art Circular concept, research and writing, coordinating with marketing on publication. • Assist in planning and organising events. • Draft or review presentations and marketing materials. Candidate Profile Qualifications and Experience • Degree in Art History or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. • Strong experience as a Registrar or in a similar role. • Solid understanding of the art world and art market. • Experience in administrative aspects of art management, including budgets and reporting. • Excellent writing and communication skills in English. • Experience in museums, galleries or academic environment; auction house experience is an advantage. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, design programmes (photoshop etc) and familiarity with collection management databases. • Knowledge of other languages is desirable.
