Job Title: Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: Redbridge Start Date: ASAP Rate: £26.00–£32.00 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time Duration: 3 months with the option to extend Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist to join a dedicated community rehabilitation team in Redbridge. This role focuses on supporting adults with a range of communication and swallowing needs, with a particular emphasis on rehabilitation following a new stroke diagnosis. You will work as part of an established multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic input to help patients maximise their communication and swallowing function. This role is well-suited to an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 clinician looking to utilise their advanced clinical skills within a supportive community setting. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: • Deliver highly specialist assessment and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, particularly following stroke. • Develop and implement advanced, evidence-based therapy programmes tailored to individual patient needs. • Create and adapt resources to support effective therapeutic intervention. • Interpret and utilise specialist assessment techniques, including videofluoroscopy and FEES. • Provide education, advice and training to families, carers and multidisciplinary team members on communication needs and dysphagia management. • Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and ongoing patient reviews. • Maintain accurate, professional clinical documentation in line with service and professional standards. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). • Current HCPC registration. • Significant experience working within adult community settings, particularly with stroke rehabilitation. • Advanced clinical skills in managing dysphagia and communication impairments. • Experience interpreting videofluoroscopic swallow studies and/or FEES (desirable). • Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
