Hours: 7.00am–16.30pm or 7:30am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8am-12pm Location: Jewson, Alfreton Road, Derby, DE21 4RT Key Responsibilities Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects, lead by example to ensure you and your team provide great customer service. Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice. Supervise all operational aspects of the yard, ensuring your yard team of 4 are briefed for the day, including delivery drivers, and that all health and safety measures are in place and your team are compliant. Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided). Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when required. Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products. Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts. Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority. Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement. Required Skills and Experience Previous industry experience preferred but not essential. A positive team player who is a strong and inclusive leader. A genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers, and a ‘customer 1st’ attitude. Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S. Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items. Counterbalance Forklift license preferred.
