Summary of Role AllianceBernstein is seeking a London-based Sovereign Research Analyst to cover Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Türkiye, Ukraine, and select markets within the Middle East (ME). The Emerging Market Research team is a global organization with team members in Hong Kong, London, New York, Pune and Singapore. Our sovereign research analysts systematically identify and analyse macroeconomic and financial market trends and investment opportunities in fixed income and currency markets. They work closely with our portfolio managers to translate macro trends and market dislocations into appropriate risk exposures in client portfolios. Our emerging market sovereign analysts collaborate closely with corporate credit analysts and across investment teams to leverage their sovereign knowledge and skills for all our fixed income strategies. Responsibilities Provide economic and financial market forecasts for countries across CEE, CIS, ME. Focus countries also include Türkiye and Ukraine, but coverage could expand based on investment opportunities. Develop comprehensive investment narratives and investment recommendations across asset classes (external debt, local debt, currencies), leveraging our proprietary systematic frameworks. Identify emerging macroeconomic and geopolitical trends and risks, which could have an impact on emerging market and global investment portfolios. ESG analysis, model validation, and sovereign engagement. Qualifications Strong economic, analytical and quantitative skills, demonstrated through academic and professional record. Ability to think broadly about macroeconomic trends and asset price implications. Relentless drive with a passion for research and investment strategy. Excellent communications skills. Ability to work well both independently and on teams. Experience Level 5+ years’ experience as a sovereign credit analyst or strategist for the relevant coverage area.
