We are seeking a dedicated Unit Manager at Penderyn to lead and manage our quarry operational unit, delivering outstanding results while maintaining a focus on safety, environmental standards, cost efficiency, quality, and service objectives. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Manage quarry operational unit and oversee several closed sites, ensuring all operations are safe, compliant, and efficient. Team Management: Lead and inspire a team of 10 employees, in addition to coordinating with contractors, fostering a positive and high-performing culture. Production Oversight: Oversee the production of approximately 500,000 tonnes of limestone annually, meeting and exceeding set targets. Budget and Financial Management: Control the annual budget, ensuring cost efficiency, and manage capital expenditure projects from inception to completion. Performance Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiencies and elevate existing performance levels. Adaptability: Respond effectively to changing business requirements, managing any adjustments to the scope of the unit and sites included. Key Requirements: Proven experience in quarry operational management, ideally in the aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial sectors. Demonstrable experience in leading and managing teams to achieve performance targets. Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget control and managing capital projects. Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and quality. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
