About Credit Specialties
Credit Specialties designs and creates unique credit insurance solutions for individual contracts or situations, as well as for portfolios of obligors, either for corporates, traders or financial institutions. Our solutions range from a short tenor spot cargos up to 12-years Project Finance deals. The team where this underwriting opportunity sits focusses on the following solutions:

  • Excess of Loss and Multi-buyer policies
  • Single Risks and project business for exporters, corporates and occasionally Financial Institutions
  • Portfolio solutions for Financial Institutions 

Within the team we have responsibilities throughout the entire lifecycle of an insurance transaction. 

About the Role
We’re looking for an Underwriter Credit Specialties to join our team in Amsterdam. In this role, you’ll manage and strategically grow our Credit Specialties portfolio, primarily through our broker community in the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Nordic region, while delivering the highest standard of service and expertise to customers worldwide.

What you’ll do:

  • Generate leads and acquire new business
  • Underwrite and review new insurance requests
  • Conduct financial, sectoral, and geopolitical analysis
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and risk underwriting teams
  • Negotiate pricing and policy wording
  • Structure policies and manage accounts

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Relevant experience: 2–5 years experience in roles like (Junior) Risk Underwriter, Sales Manager, Broker, or Account Manager within financial services—ideally in Credit Insurance or banking
  • Analytical & curious: strong analytical skills and interest in geopolitics and economics
  • Creative problem solver: you understand the business environment and enjoy finding smart, innovative solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive under pressure
  • Customer focused & eager to grow: comfortable in client-facing roles and managing strategic partnerships at all levels
  • Relationship builder: you’re proactive, approachable, and enthusiastic about networking and building meaningful connections. 
  • Ability to provide clear, structured updates to stakeholders—whether it’s line management, other departments, or external partners
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills in English
  • Strong command of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Teams)
  • A proactive approach to finding efficiencies and improving processes
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally (national and international)
