JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Shki Waase-Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik Manager the Transportation Driver is responsible to provide transportation for children ages 18 months to 5 years of age for pick up and drop off at the residential locations. The transportation driver will ensure the smooth operation of the transportation service in coordination with staff and programming needs. POSITION DUTIES: Maintain a daily logbook of all transportation Conduct daily circle and safety inspections of vehicle and document and/or report deficiencies to manager Consult with Manager about vehicle forms and any requirements for additional transportation services for planned activities and/or excursions Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Manager and record such incidents as required and/or directed Maintain a Vehicle Form and Transportation Seating Chart to confirm (by signature) that all children are accounted for As required, transfer wheelchairs, scooters or other medical equipment into vehicle Maintain a neat and sanitary environment inside the vehicle Conduct regular/routine maintenance of vehicle such as oil changes, installation of summer or winter tires, etc. Schedule and transport vehicle for repairs as required Clean and sanitize the interior of vehicle on a regular basis and wash the exterior as required TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must have current CPR, First Aid Certification, and AED Certification (or willing to obtain) Must provide a clear CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) record Must have a Valid Drivers Class F Drivers License Must treat all passengers in a respectful and professional manner Must sign & maintain confidentiality Must maintain a neat and professional appearance Personal suitability will be considered for this type of position QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid Class F driver’s license Must provide a positive Driver’s Abstract Must be mature and responsible – relate well to children, staff and parents is essential Ability to work flexible hours as approved by immediate Manager Must have the ability to read, comprehend and comply with all Sagamok Anishnawbek policies Must have the ability to work well in a team setting The ability to speak the Ojibway language, and knowledge and appreciation of Native culture and heritage are considered definite assets Qualified candidates are invited to submit their resumé, and three work related References (email addresses) through the Online BambooHR process By: Until Filled.
