Learn more about Enitial by clicking here. Job Description: Enitial currently have an opportunity for a Trainee Environmental Technician (Chemist) working within our Field Services Team. This role will be split cross-functionally across Enitial service areas of water, construction and compliance. The role requires daily travel to sites across the region and outdoor working. Often working autonomously, the ideal candidate will often take responsibility for managing their own hours, working flexibly to ensure all work requirements are completed fully. Due to the nature of the role, a company vehicle will be provided. Candidates must hold a full UK driving license to be considered. Key Accountabilities: Perform the receipt of tankered trade and domestic waste loads, conducting simple lab analysis on samples prior to acceptance at sewage treatment works. Conduct routine environmental monitoring across our three service areas of Water, Construction and Compliance in accordance with company protocols, quality assurance requirements and our client’s contract specifications. Maintain clear, honest communication with team members, management and customers alike, highlighting areas of concerns as needed. Conduct routine checks and maintenance of environmental control systems and infrastructure. Provide a reliable, efficient, and professional level of service to our clients. Liaise with clients on-site building a level of trust that leads to dependable, long term and positive relationships. Maintain Enitial’s credibility by being the face of Enitial in the field and always portraying a positive image by keeping equipment, vehicles, and PPE clean. Respect company equipment and vehicles ensuring routine calibrations and maintenance is completed in line with company protocols. Report any deviations from methods or non-conformances through to Area Managers, Data Analysts and Account Managers that could impact upon data integrity or data gaps. Manage data accurately and in line with client / company requirements. Report data through to the Data Analysts timely and in the correct format. Responsible for keeping safety at the forefront of field works and being proactive ensuring accidents and near misses are always reported straightaway to the Area Managers and client in line with our company accreditation and policy. Always compliant with the ‘Stay Safe’ remote working application when working on-site. Liaise with laboratories and couriers ensuring samples taken in the field are always, to the best of your ability, compliant. Assist with on-site training of new employees providing proactive support ensuring there onboarding into the company is friendly, engaging, and inspiring. Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Full UK Driving License (essential) Undergraduate degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline (desirable) Working knowledge in either the water or waste industry or previous experience in environmental monitoring are advantageous, however required training shall be provided. Passion for working outdoors and prepared to work in all weathers is essential. Proven track record in problem solving and being proactive. Ability to work autonomously and manage own time proficiently. Exemplary communication with colleagues, clients and stakeholders. Ability to work flexibly through a combination of shift work (7am-7pm), and self-regulated working hours ensuring workload is effectively completed. Able to work weekends, travel and overnight stays away from home on occasion. Russell Vaughan Russell joined Cawood shortly after leaving university in our Mambo-Tox laboratory and has worked on the majority of our studies, from basic lab experiments to full-sized field studies. He has been integral to new method development over his many years with the company, and is a key contributor to our reputation for clear, accurate reporting that can go straight into a dossier. After taking time out to complete his PhD in plant molecular biology, he returned to the business in 2005 and now leads our team of study directors at Mambo-Tox. Sean Stevenson Sean joined Cawood as a biochemistry graduate to work in the NRM soil analysis laboratory. Over the last 19 years he has worked his way up through sales and business development roles and is now Divisional Managing Director for Cawood Agriculture. Sean is responsible for creating commercial strategies which support and accelerate our growth. Having worked at all the different levels in the company, Sean is a firm believer in making the business a place where people can thrive.
