The Temporary Machine Operator supports efficient production operations within JW Winco’s machine shop. This first-shift role is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and is expected to last a minimum of 60 days. While experience with CNC setup and operation or manual lathe work is beneficial, the primary focus of this position is CNC machine operation. 

 

A typical day in the life of a Machine Operator might include

· Working from work orders.

· Operating CNC machine.

· Ensuring that machinery is well maintained.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

· Optimize machine processes, produce parts accurately and efficiently.

· Understand basic machine functions and effects on machined parts.

· Complete first piece inspection and use a variety of precision measuring and inspection devices to ensure parts conform to specifications.

· Operate and maintain machine equipment.


Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required, with at least five years of experience operating CNC production machines. Vocational or technical training is preferred.

· Application of problem-solving skills applicable to various machining operations.

· Proficient with various precision measuring and inspection tools.


Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
