We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our Special Projects Division focussing on internal fire safety works across the country. You’ll be capable of working in a team, coordinating the different contributors to a project, and using your first-class communication skills you will influence others to ensure that the required programmes are met and that design, specification and works are carried out to the highest standards. You may be from a residential developer, fire engineering practice, fire safety assessment company or specialist passive fire protection contractor. Key Responsibilities: Review Fire Risk Assessments and prepare briefing documents of actions points for Crest, contractors & Responsible Entities and Responsible Persons. Co-ordination of mark-up plans of areas of works, acting as the bridge between our assessments team and other technical colleagues Review firestopping and fire door surveys. Site visits to review accuracy of firestopping and fire door surveys and inspect quality of internal remedial works. Advise of firestopping, compartmentation and fire door remedial details/methods. Advise on allocation of fire door non-compliance items between installation and in-use defects. Review contractor’s remedial proposals. Review firestopping and fore door completion QA reports & certifications. Assist in tracking the Golden Thread packs. Assist on fire strategy proposals until Retrospective Fire Safety Strategy plans are finalised. Assist with internal remedial works detail for HRB Gateway 2 applications. Qualifications Needs to be a "competent person" with deep knowledge of building safety legislation such as Building Safety Act 2022, Building Regulations, CDM, building types including HRBs, and specifically internal fire remediation works. The role requires an individual with both strong on-site practical experience and desk top experience. Qualification desirable but not essential: European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 5+ qualifications or similar, professional body registration (like BAFE SP205/IFSM/IFE) About Crest Nicholson Creating places people love is what gets us up in the morning.
