As a Staff Software Engineer on the Perception and Safety R&D Team, you will join a small cross-functional group focused on designing, building, and deploying production-quality robotic perception software. You will design, build, and maintain highly scalable software frameworks and data pipelines to characterize, evaluate, and improve our core perception algorithms. Your work will be critical in enabling our robots to deeply understand their environment and accurately recognize humans. How you will make an impact: Engineer robust data frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to evaluate perception algorithms running on our robot systems Own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements specification to deployment and ongoing maintenance, ensuring code quality and system reliability Work closely with a small team to design and prototype new product features which enable our robots to operate safely around humans. We are looking for: 5-7+ years of experience in software development Deep experience designing and developing robust data frameworks and scalable pipelines Proven experience developing and deploying production code and working in large, complex codebases History of leading technical efforts through planning, architecture, development, testing Experience of working in small, interdisciplinary teams Above and beyond: Experience developing and deploying software for time-sensitive control systems, such as robotics. applied computer vision and perception problems. Knowledge of state of the art in related areas including human detection, autonomous vehicle and driver assist systems, and robot safety.
