We’re looking for a SQL Database Administrator with a passion to learn, tackle interesting problems, and brings a tenacious attitude as they develop deep expertise in Azure SQL within a modern SaaS environment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our Lead DBA and alongside experienced engineers to help keep our databases secure, performant, and running smoothly. You’ll contribute to monitoring, tuning, and improving our systems - gaining exposure to large-scale, multi-tenant cloud environments along the way. What We’re Looking For: Responsibilities: Support the design, implementation, and operation of secure, resilient Azure SQL environments across our multi-tenant SaaS platform. Monitor database health, performance, and capacity using established observability tools and metrics. Troubleshoot and tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures to maintain fast, efficient, and reliable performance. Assist in managing database deployments and configuration changes through automated, source-controlled processes. Contribute to database maintenance activities, including routine integrity checks, automation scripts, and ongoing optimisation tasks. Participate in incident response activities — helping investigate performance issues, outages, or data anomalies. Work alongside senior engineers to review data models, schema designs, and access patterns for performance and scalability. Passionate problem-solver with a focus on process improvement and automation. Requirements: Experience as a SQL Database Administrator working in production environments. Solid understanding of SQL Server performance tuning, query optimisation, and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with Azure SQL or other cloud-hosted database platforms. Understanding of source control (Git) Clear communicator who can collaborate effectively with engineers, infrastructure specialists, and data teams. Curious and proactive — keen to learn, improve processes, and contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Demonstrates a strong work ethic, pragmatism, bias for action and a high sense of responsibility. Beneficial: Experience working with data lakes, warehouses and business intelligence platforms. Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data modelling Background in a SaaS environment. Experience with NoSQL databases. Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
