The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Site Manager to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new Site Manager? Our Site Managers will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, reporting to the Project Delivery Manager they will be responsible for: Management and awareness of all aspects of day-to-day site production for the satisfactory completion of specific elements of the project, including resource management, forward planning, and communication with their teams. Management of on-site supervisors, engineers, labour and MEICA and Civils subcontractors. Contribute to work planning - Utilisation of Production techniques and planning tools to ensure efficient management of onsite production. Management of Health, Safety, Environment, and wellbeing on site. Including the preparation, approval, and delivery of RAMS, SSOW, permits, site inductions and briefings and a thorough understanding of safety, environmental and quality management processes, and regulations. Management of Risk and Opportunity – Understand the sites Risk and Opportunities and work with the team to pro-actively mitigate risks and realise opportunities. Experience in the supervision and coordination of Temporary Works on site, ideally with an internal or external accreditation. Ensuring all operations adhere to both legislative and SPA guidelines for health, safety, environmental and quality procedures and are delivered within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the appropriate standards, specifications and regulatory requirements. Understanding and experience of land entry practices. Thorough understanding of commercial, contractual and procurement processes, including the NEC suite of contracts to enable effective delivery. The enabling phase starts with identification of the preferred solutions and includes design work, surveys, consenting and any early construction work to enabling the main construction phase. The key site activities to plan and manage will include: Ecology surveys Archaeological investigations & trial trenching Ground investigations Engineering surveys Environmental surveys Mobilisation and management of temporary enabling phase works compounds Mobilisation and handover of temporary construction phase works compounds The enabling phase and therefore roles are for ~12 months with option to extend depending on resource needs. We are looking for engaged and passionate Site Managers who: Can demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work, preferably with experience of working on large diameter pipelines within the water sector. Understand the benefits of a production based approach and how this can deliver differently. Are excellent communicators who can passionately share SPA’s vision to both their teams and external stakeholders. Work collaboratively with the Engineering & Integration team to help deliver the most holistic solutions. Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done.
