Role Purpose:
We are seeking a Senior Underwriter to join Chubb's France Life Sciences Industry Practice Underwriting Team, based in Paris, France. This senior position will focus on underwriting Life Sciences risks across multiple lines. The successful candidate will play a key role in the growth of the portfolio with key brokers and clients, leveraging expertise in both property and casualty to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Our Life Sciences Industry Practice supports stakeholders such as pharmaceutical laboratories, biotechnology companies, and more generally all companies that create, market, and distribute medicines, medical devices, connected health objects, treatments, or that conduct medical research and clinical trials.

Industry Practices differentiate Chubb as an industry specialist, including specialist underwriting expertise, differentiated products and propositions across multiple risk areas, and tailored service delivery.
 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Collaborate closely with other team members and the wider community to drive production opportunities across property and casualty lines
•    Financial Goals: Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines across multiple lines of business and local business plan
•    Initiative: Demonstrate initiative and assist the life sciences practice leader developing a multiline book 
•    Portfolio Integrity: Ensure quality control within the defined area of responsibility by conducting quantitative underwriting reviews
•    Producer Management: Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers clients. Service key producers and clients, monitor business acquisition and retention, and maximize cross-selling opportunities across property and casualty
•    Procedures: Ensure compliance with company standards in respect of policy documentation, timelines for quoting new and renewal business, peer reviews, and other compliance issues
•    Chubb Representative: Act as a representative of Chubb and maintain ongoing contact with internal colleagues and clients, including major manufacturing clients
•    Technical Ability: Grow technical skills for underwriting across property and casualty lines
•    Help junior staff to grow underwriting skills across multiple lobs

Skills & Experience Required:

•    Experienced professional in underwriting casualty risks for life sciences companies; other lines of business knowledge is welcomed as we are         expanding multiline capacities
•    Ability to work effectively in a team
•    Familiarity with handling multinational accounts
•    Knowledge of the French insurance market
•    Understanding of the Life Sciences sector
•    Adaptable to developing skill sets related to underwriting additional lines of business (property, casualty, Cyber etc.)
•    Broad business skills, including communication, organization, IT, presentation, and negotiation abilities
•    Willingness to learn and underwrite additional lines of business (property casualty and cyber)
•    English and native French language skills
