About the role.

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of shipping and receiving operations of 12- 20 warehouse operators.   This includes the functions of oversight in Warehousing, shipping/ receiving procedures, and ensuring the safety of all employees while utilizing systems of WMS Warehouse Management Systems and SAP inventory control and billing. Oversight includes team building, appraising employees, setting goals for employees while approving pay and administering follow-up coaching, or in certain cases administering discipline.   Serves as a change agent and facilitator of continuous improvement processes. 

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Institute a safe workplace ensuring the safety of all employees, including compliance with forklift operating guidelines.
  • Oversight and Supervision of Shipping and Warehousing activities for the shift crew. 
  • Ensuring daily activities are in compliance with all McCain shipping / receiving procedures,regulatory bodies of HACCP, customer audits, Fire commissioners office, environmental agencies (ISO). 
  • Effective Communication to ensure shift goals are discussed, ensuring issues are communicated and addressed.
  • Policy Deployment including revisions to existing and implementing change required of outdated procedures.
  • Approving of employee's time for wages, vacation time administration of crew, administering coaching and appraising employees and administering discipline if needed. 
  • Driving everyday engagement.
  • Work towards shift goals in Safety, shipping, and receiving schedule compliance and facilitate efficient practices in working to meet shift productivity and Forklift impact monitoring Info- Link Goals. 

 

MEASURES OF SUCCESS: 

 

  • Key Measure shift loading/unloading adherence to TMS. 
  • Good Communication and Leadership monitored by Our voice, shift startup meetings, shift hand-off meetings, and resolving of employee issues including addressing absenteeism and ensuring staffing levels adequate for shipping / receiving operations.
  • Efficient loading crews with minimal issues regarding timely loading, timely receiving, the accuracy of orders, and accuracy of inventory and fulfillment of shift metric goals. Must be visible throughout the shift on the warehouse floor following up on tasks and supervising duties. 

 

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • 3 years’ experience in leadership roles with focus on Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing.Previous experience in an acting supervisor role will be highly regarded.
  • WMS knowledge, including strong leadership and coaching skills along with the ability to manage multiple priorities is required.
  • Strong communication skills required, managing and responding to e-mail volume. 
  • Experience and ability to problem solve, analyze trends, Coach and lead to facilitate McCain's shift goals.
  • Must oversee refrigeration operations on the assigned crew and is recommended incumbent has or obtains an ammonia class refrigeration certificate.

Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility 

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
