Job Description Overview: As a Business Development Manager (BDM) in the Henry Schein Dental Practice Sales team, you will be at the forefront of brokerage operations, engaging with dental practice owners across a designated territory in the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to secure new business opportunities through meeting with practice owners interested in selling their practices, facilitating the valuation and preparation of their practice for marketing. Alongside marketing, you will also play a key role in generating and converting leads received into the business. The position requires strong relationship-building skills, utilising the broader Henry Schein and business network and a proactive approach to securing new business. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead Generation and Follow up: • Utilise your skills, database, and network to identify, generate, promptly engage, and convert leads for dental practice sales within the designated territory. This will be a coordinated approach between BDM, marketing, and the brokerage team. • Support the marketing team with events, webinars, and ideas/content to generate new leads into the business. 2. Client Engagement: • Meet with dental practice owners to discuss their interests and objectives in selling their practices. • Provide information on the brokerage process, services and support we offer. • Offer credible market knowledge and insight. • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the sales process. 3. Practice Valuation: • Collect relevant data and information from practice owners necessary for the valuation process. • Prepare detailed and thorough valuations, with support from the internal team, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Contribute to peer review of valuations across the company. • Upon approval, review the valuations with the practice owners, providing them with expert advice and guidance. 4. Collaboration with Henry Schein Colleagues: • Build strong working relationships with Henry Schein colleagues in your designated territory to identify opportunities for collaboration and mutual support. 5. Reporting • Keep accurate records and regularly update the CRM system • Provide regular updates and reports to the business development team manager on leads, client meetings, and other relevant metrics. 6. Market Knowledge • Stay abreast of trends, regulations, and competitors within the UK dental M&A landscape. • Attend industry events and conferences as needed. This role is extremely varied; therefore, the job description is not exhaustive, and the role holder will be required to participate in other duties as required by the business. To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following: Qualifications: • Good standard of Education • Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field an advantage • Valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel within the designated territory Skills & Experience: • Demonstrable experience in sales, business development, or a similar role, preferably within the dental industry or M&A landscape. • Knowledge of the UK dental market and M&A process. • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
