If you are passionate about underwriting and want to actively contribute to the transformation of the commercial insurance sector at a fast-growing company, we are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our team. Reporting to the Team Leader, your primary responsibilities will include analyzing the risks of files submitted by brokers, as well as underwriting requests, while ensuring the quality of the underwritten risks meets the desired profitability. You will determine the terms and pricing of risks and, when necessary, seek the expertise of technical specialists. You will ensure compliance with internal standards and procedures and, when required, obtain approval from the team leader and/or partner insurers following a "referral." In the event of a risk refusal, you must be able to justify your decision with a clear and concise rationale. Main Responsibilities New Business Ensure liaison between brokers and insurers in order to negotiate and determine insurance terms and conditions. Develop, underwrite and service new business in accordance with the guidelines of the various programs and contracts, or as a wholesaler Initiate and maintain a privileged relationship with brokers by providing them with top-quality service Represent the company at industry events, as required Develop business relationships with existing and new brokers through marketing visits Renewals Underwrite and process renewals according to program and contract guidelines Collaborate with colleagues on current and future opportunities Verify and understand insurance policies, wordings and standards Confirm and approve that underwriting standards reflect contracts and meet program needs Work with underwriters on contracts and underwriting standards Endorsements Work on requests for endorsements and price them if necessary, according to the content of the request Make changes to and approve cancellations of policies forwarded by assistants Profile Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience or more Established network of brokers in Ontario CRM, CIP, FCIP and / or other insurance related designations is an asset Analytical and decision-making skills supported by solid technical knowledge Ability to synthesize information Adaptability and flexibility in the face of change Good communication skills Excellent negotiation skills Sense of responsibility and priorities High level of service, always in solution mode, for the benefit of our fast-growing customer base Benefits Teleworking in hybrid mode for work-life balance Access to Group Insurance, Health Spending Account, Employee & Family Assistance Program and Telemedicine Access to a retirement program with employer contributions 7 Personal days Birthday leave Bonus program Ongoing Courses Reimbursement Program
