For our business, for clients, and for you Role Summary The role holder is a Risk Management subject matter expert and a member of the Risk Framework & Functions team within Apex Group’s Risk Function. As part of this central team, the role holder shares responsibility for the design, advisory, guidance, monitoring and oversight of the Risk Management Framework (“RMF”). Delivering a Second Line of Defence remit, the role reports directly to the Senior Director, Head of Risk Framework, and would suit a credible, highly adaptable, Risk Management Subject Matter Expert with an understanding of industry products, emerging technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Digital Assets) and Group wide shared service functions. Key Responsibilities and deliverables Deliver accurate assessments and reporting of risk and control environments for Products and Functions Partner with Product Leads and Functional control teams to strengthen risk oversight Utilize Risk Frameworks, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Risk Appetite, and scenario exercises Coordinate with the Head of Risk, Functions, and Risk Framework teams Monitor and maintain the Group’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related documentation Deliver risk management updates to stakeholders and relevant committees Support proactive risk management and timely reporting Conduct risk assessments and related activities led by the Chief Risk Officer and team Champion a risk-aware culture and promote the business continuity framework Key Requirements Solid understanding of alternative asset industry products and global, shared service functions Good understanding of emerging technologies such as AI and digital assets Exceptional experience of the risk assessment cycle Comprehensive experience (c. 5+ years) in practical RMF operation and theoretical design, ideally within financial services Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and organisational skills Strong interpersonal, listening, and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels Ability to work independently, managing workload and deliverables while balancing high quality with pace Self-motivated, highly engaged, and driven, with a passion for risk management and emerging technology Delivery-focused, balancing Risk Function goals with those of a growing, commercially focused business Risk Management qualification is desirable but not essential Personal commitment to growth—through qualifications or other means—and to evolving the RMF Disclaimer: Unsolicited CVs sent to Apex (Talent Acquisition Team or Hiring Managers) by recruitment agencies will not be accepted for this position.
