Senior Software Developer (Remote)

About the company and the project: An international company, a leader in developing large-scale energy storage and grid-stability technologies, is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer to be a part of its core team. The company has been operating since 2006 and is currently expanding its portfolio of commercial power plants. The successful candidate will contribute to the fastest-growing direction, integrating advanced software with physical energy infrastructure. The company has offices in London, Dubai, and India. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world and manage your own schedule. Your tasks on the position: Designing and implementing automated trading systems for UK energy markets Building real-time bidding, dispatch optimization, and pricing algorithms for LAES assets Developing monitoring dashboards, alerting systems, and operational analytics for plant performance Building monitoring dashboards for LAES and stability island operations Creating high-throughput data ingestion and streaming pipelines using Kafka and PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB Working with data pipelines using Kafka and PostgreSQL Building microservices and APIs for trading platforms, market integration, and system control Developing microservices connecting trading platforms and grid operators 5+ years of software development experience Proficiency in Python (or readiness to ramp up quickly within ~3 weeks) Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs Solid understanding of software design patterns and testing practices Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar streaming platforms Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL and time-series data processing Proficiency in Git and Agile development workflows English B2+ Will be an advantage: Rust experience Exposure to energy markets, trading systems, or optimization algorithms Interest in industrial control systems, IoT, or real-world operational data Competitive salary according to your experience and skills Paid vacation Plenty of opportunities for learning and professional growth Starting next year, everyone will be issued Macs with tracking software B2b contract or official employment for the candidates based in the United Kingdom
