About the company and the project: An international company, a leader in developing large-scale energy storage and grid-stability technologies, is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to be a part of its core team. The company has been operating since 2006 and is currently expanding its portfolio of commercial power plants. The successful candidate will contribute to the fastest-growing direction, integrating advanced software with physical energy infrastructure. The company has offices in London, Dubai, and India. This position is only available for candidates based in London as regular on-site presence in the London office is required. Your tasks on the position: Maintaining and extending existing Python-based data grabbers (e.g., Elexon/Iris) that collect data from market and operational APIs Designing and implementing new data grabbers for additional data sources Implementing logging, monitoring, and notification for grabber pipelines Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows using dbt and GitHub Actions Ensuring data quality, completeness, and reproducibility across ingestion layers Designing and evolving PostgreSQL schemas for analytical workloads Creating and maintaining dbt models that transform raw data into curated, analysis-ready datasets Optimizing SQL queries and transformations for performance and maintainability 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer Strong Python programming skills (especially for API data ingestion and ETL) Advanced SQL and data modeling experience with PostgreSQL Proficiency with dbt for transformation pipelines and version-controlled data models Experience managing data pipelines in GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD systems Solid understanding of data quality, testing, and reproducibility principles English B2+ Will be a plus: Familiarity with Apache Superset or similar BI tools Experience working with time-series or market data Exposure to AWS-based analytics environments (EKS, S3, CloudWatch) as a user or contributor Interest in energy markets, grid operations, or related analytical domains Competitive salary according to your experience and skills Official employment according to the UK Labor Law Paid vacation Plenty of opportunities for learning and professional growth Starting next year, everyone will be issued Macs with tracking software
