Job Title: Senior Software Developer Full Time / 37.50 hours per week / Hybrid – Mandatory Weekly travel required to our Northampton HO Salary From: £ 60k per annum Closing Date: Until the right candidate is hired Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of scalable, enterprise-grade software solutions and play a pivotal role in our ongoing digital transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for a passionate technologist who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications The role demands a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and proven leadership capabilities. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to align technology with business goals. The ideal candidate has a track record of delivering complex systems within large digital transformation programs, driving modernization efforts across legacy platforms, and fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to lead by example—writing clean, efficient code, mentoring junior developers, and driving best practices across the software development lifecycle. Experience with Microsoft technologies is essential, and familiarity with Azure-based application development and integration will be a significant advantage as we continue to expand our cloud capabilities. Responsible For: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust web applications using ASP.NET Web Forms and C#. Architect and implement scalable backend solutions with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL. Leverage Entity Framework for efficient data access and ORM strategies. Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support system integrations and data exchange. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps. Utilize tools such as Visual Studio, IIS, and Git for development, deployment, and version control. Contribute to Azure-based application development, including cloud services, integrations, and deployment pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high system reliability and performance. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Experience / Education: Degree in a relevant field 5+ years of hands-on experience with ASP.NET Web Forms, .Net core and C# in a professional setting. Deep expertise in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning and stored procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinker Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system integration Demonstrated success in leading or contributing to large digital transformation projects. Strong experience with Entity Framework for ORM and data access patterns. Solid front-end development skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. Familiarity with development and deployment tools such as Visual Studio, IIS, and Git. Proven experience with RESTful API design and integration. Exposure to Azure services and cloud-native application development is highly desirable. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
