About the Role: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Operations & Excellence Manager to join Elsevier’s Shared Technologies organization. This function encompasses critical platforms such as Identity & Access, the API Platform, and the Internal Developer Platform, supporting 10+ product squads across these domains. As we implement and scale Aha! as our central product roadmapping tool (integrated with Jira for delivery tracking), this role will be instrumental in building operational excellence, maintaining data integrity across both systems, and ensuring that our product roadmaps and OKRs accurately reflect our strategic and delivery progress. Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Design, implement, and refine product operations processes to ensure efficiency, transparency, and alignment across all Shared Technologies squads. Product Road Mapping: Ensure product roadmaps are accurate, current, and aligned with delivery and strategic objectives. Data Excellence: Uphold high-quality, reliable data standards across Aha! and Jira to support planning, tracking, and communication. Process Enablement: Ensure product managers are equipped and trained to apply operational processes consistently. Product Excellence & Team Growth: Support the development and effectiveness of the product management community, including learning pathways and best practice adoption. Team Engagement: Monitor team sentiment using eNPS and OfficeVibe, and coordinate actions to foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. Dependency Management: Track and communicate progress on complex deliveries with multiple dependencies across teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Product Operations peers and support the Chief of Staff to drive maturity in product operations. Continuous Improvement: Lead change initiatives to enhance collaboration between product, technology, and delivery teams. Requirements: Experience: 10+ years of experience in Product Operations, Product Excellence, Product Management, or related Operations roles, preferably within technology-driven organizations. Excellence Mindset: Passion for developing people, elevating product craft, and contributing to a healthy, engaged product culture. Operational Expertise: Proven experience designing and managing product processes and operating frameworks. Tool Mastery: Strong proficiency with Aha! and Jira, or similar product and delivery management tools, including integration and data governance. Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Skilled at identifying process inefficiencies and implementing strategic, scalable solutions. Communication & Influence: Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing across product, technology, and leadership teams. Highly Organized: Detail-oriented, structured, and disciplined in managing multiple complex workstreams. Collaborative Leadership: Comfortable working cross-functionally with diverse teams to drive alignment and operational consistency.
