Title: Senior Procurement Manager - Global Climate Strategic Planning and Advocacy Reporting Into: Kallol Mukherjee Location:: 100VE Work Level: WL2C About the Role This is a high impact, highly visible and critical role within the Procurement Climate team, focused on driving strategic planning, advocacy and performance management related to Unilever’s climate goal across our own operations (scope 1 & 2) and our value chain (scope 3). You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of our climate goals. About the Procurement Sustainability – Climate Team The Procurement Sustainability – Climate team is responsible for the delivery of Unilever’s 2030 (near term) Climate Goal spanning across scope 1, 2 and 3 that SBTi validated. The team is structured into three sub-teams: • Scope 1 & 2 Team: Owns program design, strategy and delivery of 100% emission reduction in our operations by 2030 (over 2015 baseline). • Procurement Net Zero Team: Owns program design, strategy and delivery of Scope 3 goals (30% reduction in our FLAG emissions, and 42% reduction in our non-FLAG emissions by 2030 over 2021 baseline. • Carbon Intelligence Team: Owns the data, reporting and digital agenda across Scope 1, 2, and 3. This newly created role will work in close partnership with all three sub-teams and the central communications, corporate affairs and sustainability (CCAS) team. Key Responsibilities 1. Advocacy Strategy Execution • Create the key advocacy asks and prioritize advocacy actions across scope 1, 2 and 3 for the Procurement Climate team. • Work jointly with the advocacy lead from central CCAS to develop an actionable roadmap for advocacy opportunities, govern and track execution progress, ensuring timely delivery. • Represent Procurement Climate team in external forums linked to advocacy and influencing peer groups 2. Climate Performance Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Consolidate tracking and monitoring progress of Business Groups (BGs) and overall Unilever against climate goals. • Review progress with the central and BG sustainability counterparts, identify gaps, plan corrective actions and drive collaboration across teams to resolve delivery challenges and accelerate progress. • Execute performance reviews with BG sustainability leads in collaboration with the Procurement Net Zero teams and central sustainability teams. 3. Central Strategic Planning • Generate climate scorecards and performance dashboards for leadership visibility. • Prepare impactful presentations and materials for Sustainability SteerCo, Climate Delivery Squad, and other key central leadership meetings. • Consolidate inputs from Procurement Net Zero, Carbon Intelligence, and Scope 1 & 2 leads for strategic planning and leadership reviews. 4. Procurement Climate Strategy Integration • Lead content development for procurement leadership reviews based on inputs from the Procurement Net Zero, Carbon Intelligence, and Scope 1 & 2 leads. • Support refresh of 2030 delivery plans for Procurement Net Zero, Carbon Intelligence, and Scope 1 & 2 teams, highlight emerging themes and opportunities that strengthen procurement climate strategy. • Connect initiatives across teams to create a cohesive narrative and identify opportunities that can be leveraged to deliver procurement climate goals. 5. Climate Risk Analysis: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate climate-related risks and opportunities, including physical risks, regulatory changes, market trends, and consumer preferences. • Provide insights and recommendations to inform business decision-making and risk management strategies. Qualifications & Experience • 8+ years of experience in sustainability, procurement, or climate-related programs; Experience in consulting is a strong preference. • Strong understanding of Scope 1, 2, and 3 decarbonization strategies. • Proven experience managing highly complex, enterprise-scale programs. • Experience engaging and influencing C-suite stakeholders. • Comfort with dynamic and changing briefs; ability to work through ambiguity and deliver clarity. • Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
