Job Description: TD Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Analytics Platform Engineering team to drive the transformation of our data and analytics infrastructure platforms on Azure and Google. This leadership role will be to manage a team of 7-12 cloud platform engineers responsible for designing, building and maintaining critical analytics services including Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric and Google BigQuery. The role reports to the AVP of AI, ML & Analytics product group. You will champion a platform-as-a-product approach, ensuring our data analytics platform enables business innovation while maintaining the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of 7-12 senior platform engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for Azure Databricks, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric. Oversee the development and maintenance of infrastructure as code pipelines leveraging Terraform and Git Actions to automate platform service delivery. Balance hands-on technical contribution (40%) with people leadership responsibilities (60%), maintaining technical credibility while developing team capabilities Establish and enforce engineering best practices including code quality standards, security protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements Manage team performance including goal setting, performance reviews, career development planning, and succession planning Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and deliver platform capabilities Lead incident response and problem resolution for critical platform issues, ensuring high availability and reliability Drive continuous improvement initiatives including platform optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure platform adherence to regulatory and security standards Scale the engineering team through strategic hiring, onboarding, and knowledge transfer processes Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred Minimum 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years managing a platform engineering or software engineering team 5+ years of experience in financial services with deep understanding of banking technology, security and regulatory requirements Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Experience with large scale data platform implementations leveraging Azure Databricks, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, service hardening, and data governance. Lead with influence, build relationships, and collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. Excellent communication skills with ability to interact both with technical teams, business stakeholders and executive teams.
