The Role 

SensorUp is seeking an exceptional Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. This unique position offers the opportunity to leverage your skills to establish the technical roadmap for a critical, pioneering product stream. You will be responsible for the complete software development lifecycle encompassing design, development, and implementation of the full-stack solution. As a leader, you will also serve as a coach, mentoring and guiding a cross-functional team of engineers and fostering close collaboration with both the customer and product team. 

Your Influence 

• Spearhead the design and development of a groundbreaking product from concept to launch 
• Foster a collaborative environment by working collaboratively in a cross-functional triad with product management and design to ensure product alignment with business goals and user needs 
• Lead the development and enhancement of a high-performance, data-driven frontend interface using React and other modern stack technologies
• Collaborate closely with backend teams to efficiently handle large data streams, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Embrace the player-coach role, activity contributing to the technical development process while providing guidance and mentorship to your engineering team 
• Serve as the technical authority, including making strategic decisions about the technology stack, implementing industry best practices, and staying abreast of the latest advancements with the goal of innovation and efficiency
• Establish with your collaborators a robust feedback loop with the customer, activity soliciting and incorporating user feedback to drive continuous improvement in functionality and user experience

Your Experience 

• Extensive experience in building and optimizing React-based applications, including state management with tools like Redux, Context API, or similar.
• Proven track record of developing data-intensive applications, particularly those involving real-time data from IoT devices.
• Strong knowledge of front-end architecture and performance optimization
• Experience in Node.js
• Extensive experience with databases, both relational and non-relational data storage tools (DynamoDB, S3, DuckDB) 
• Designed and implemented highly available and scalable event driven services in the cloud (AWS)
• Experience with domain driven design and federated GraphQL API 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas, expectations, and feedback to team members, stakeholders, and customers 
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a cross-functional engineering team 
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with modern team organizational frameworks 
• Professional experience with agentic AI development tools would be a significant plus
• Experience developing AI solutions using Model Context Protocol (MCP) would be a significant plus
• Experience building robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and having hands-on experience with data processing frameworks and pipeline tools (e.g., Dagster, dbt, Airflow, etc.) is a nice to have

Salary Range 150-180k CAD 

Salary ranges are determined by the role and level required for the position. Factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training and location determine individual pay. The position is also eligible for equity, bonus, and participation in our total rewards package in your region.
