Job Summary Department of Neurology: The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Department of Neurology Finance team and will support a variety of critical departmental financial, administrative, and analytical tasks. The Senior Financial Analyst assists in preparing statistical reports and assists with financial statement preparation while supporting financial analysis of strategic projects and ad hoc analysis as required. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst supports operational and administrative decisions affecting finance, budget preparation and monitoring, budget analysis and projection. Essential Functions: - Maintain or modify all financial analytic models in use. - Interprets financial information by consolidating, studying, and analyzing data. - Train junior analysts and sometimes review their work. - Prepares and presents analyses, forecasts, and recommendations to senior business and finance leaders that support and drive key business, strategic, and investment decisions. - Interpret results of financial analysis procedures. - Supervise project budget and all financial issues for all projects. - Support the Finance Leader on projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field required is required. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a financial analysis or finance operations role with fiscal responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting and cost/benefit analysis. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Advanced Excel skills, a skills test may be administered. A high degree of social facility in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of people. Strong interpersonal skills, including customer service orientation Able to take initiative, including knowledge of resources to answer questions and find required data and information. Attention to detail. Commitment to accuracy and integrity of all data, reports and communications. Ability to effectively respond to extremely sensitive and confidential issues. Ability to manage multiple tasks and re-establish priorities as necessary. Excellent communication (both oral and written), collaboration and presentation skills. Proficient in budgetary or accounting principles and practices, including the ability to prepare, interpret and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow analyses. A demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. Must be a team player and willing to take on additional challenges if needed. Knowledge of standard MGB systems (Workday, Insight, Strata) a plus. Additional Job Details (if applicable) Department-Specific Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable processing including all Purchase Orders, check requests, and reimbursement requests for the Department. Assist with the completion and management of all accounting tasks as part of the monthly close. Perform accounting activities in conjunction with BWPO and BWH finance departments to ensure accurate monthly application of revenue and expense. Work closely with all physicians and staff to effectively communicate and educate them on the business expense policy. Complete monthly fund and department reconciliations and identify and communicate corrections when needed. Assist with the tracking and processing of physician bonuses/incentive payments and processing of monthly special payments. Assist in submitting monthly invoices for billing outside organizations. Provide financial support for departmental forecasts, analyze key performance indicators, and provide analysis for operational decisions. Other related projects and duties, as assigned.
