SUMMARY The Senior Director of Sales is a pivotal role responsible for driving patient volume and achieving growth targets in each market within our dynamic home healthcare organization. This position will provide strategic guidance to VPs/RVPs of Hospice, GIP Managers and Community Market Managers and drive tactical execution, operating under a formal matrixed reporting structure. With a focus on sales strategy, this role will play a key part in expanding our market presence and fostering strategic partnerships. The Senior Director of Sales, Hospice will travel up to 75% of the time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Sales Growth Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies, rooted in data-based insights, to meet and exceed established patient volume and growth targets in existing markets. Lead, train, and motivate the General Inpatient and Community teams to secure new referrals and maintain existing accounts from various healthcare providers, including physician’s offices, long-term care facilities, rehabs, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals. Business Development: Using quantitative data sources and qualitative market knowledge, identify and prioritize new business opportunities to drive patient census growth and expand ASHN’s ability to effectively serve as many patients as possible. Allocate sales resources to effectively establish and nurture relationships with high priority accounts, translating into quantifiable sales outcomes. Take an active role nurturing relationships with healthcare professionals to support sales efforts. Represent the company at networking events and business organizations to promote our services and cultivate awareness of hospice service benefits. Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance and supervision to a team of Community Market Managers, General Inpatient Nurse Liaisons and Sales Representatives. Translate company growth targets into tactical sales plans. Refine existing sales territories / key account assignments, assign individual performance quotas, measure results daily, and manage individual teammate performance. Conduct regular market reviews to identify growth opportunities and properly align resources to capture the identified growth. Conduct regular performance appraisals, offer coaching and support as needed, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Regional Vice Presidents of Hospice, the VP of Hospice, and the Chief Operating Officer to align growth efforts with organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless care coordination for patients and support company-wide growth and profitability. Forecasting and Reporting: Develop and manage accurate census forecasts on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Budget Oversight: Monitor resource allocation in alignment with budgetary constraints to optimize sales operations. Other: The Senior Director of Sales will travel to partner agencies, and potential new JV partnerships, up to 75% of the time. Other duties as assigned. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Matrixed supervision of key market General Inpatient Hospice Clinical Staff for sales activities. Supervision of key market sales and Care Integration Community Market Managers. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Healthcare Administration or related field Minimum of 6 years of healthcare sales experience required, with a strong background in post-acute care (home healthcare and/or hospice) preferred Demonstrated success in developing and implementing best practice sales programs resulting in exceptional growth, with the ability to balance the importance of encouraging patient choice while ensuring awareness among patients and clinicians about the benefits of home healthcare provided by ASHN and its JV partner agencies Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a track record of driving change Exceptional tactical execution resulting in quantified sales results Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels while providing strategic guidance to peers and direct reports Understanding of healthcare compliance guidelines and the implications on sales Demonstrated ability to lead above average growth within a similarly-sized organization An action-oriented style that approaches problem solving in a collaborative manner and is able to drive performance with a positive attitude Ability to travel 75% of the time EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS We’ll help you put your passion for patient care to work.
