Senior Digital Delivery Technician Location Durban REPORTS TO Section Manager or other professional consultant or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time. PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE Provide and undertake complex design modelling tasks, prepare tender/construction documents, provide technical support services in meeting the requirements of the functional group and its clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Modelling and Detailing Revit,C3D and Bentley implementation for team Develop Autodesk templates/ Libraries and tools to maintain standards Programming within Autodesk (Visual Coding/Automation) Quality audit on outgoing drawings Standardisation of all drawings on project Visualization of 3D models of projects for presentations BIM implementation Handling all Autodesk troubleshooting and setting up of interfaces in respective department Participating in office technical discussions and project delivery meetings Mentor, train and provide technical support to junior staff Conducting conceptual and detailed design and modelling in order to prepare technical drawings and documentation Provide practical and economical solutions to project deliverables Applying a deeper understanding of modelling principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems Maintain a high level of Modelling expertise and engineering knowledge Undertake supervisor role and lead on projects Contribute to the overall management and profitably of the functional group Ensure drawings and documentation are to the highest quality Maintain client satisfaction Strictly adhere to SMEC’s Management System (MS), quality standards and OHS procedures Introduce Graduate Engineers to in-house standards and the practical application of tasks and construction techniques Assist Project Managers with site queries and reporting solutions KEY CHALLENGES To work independently and self-motivated to produce accurate models/drawings to a high standard within set deadlines KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Accuracy of models Meeting set deadlines Ability to work independently Identifies and understands technical issues, problems and opportunities Project delivery to meet client’s ToR and departments BEP Development of networks and contribution to team goals Commercial awareness Technical support and mentoring Parametric workflow creation Parametric Modelling 3D Details to LOD deliverables Setup of Models ISO-19650 Understanding Automation and programming RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Professional Registration in drawing/ modelling (Autodesk certification preferred) Minimum of 5 years in similar position Some key experience in relevant projects Proficiency in Autodesk, Bentley or discipline specific software essential We are proud of the brilliant minds we have at SMEC and are committed to ensuring that our people have the best opportunities and resources to learn, grow and succeed.
