About the Role We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team at LexisNexis. This role is ideal for a highly skilled data engineer who enjoys working across cloud platforms, building scalable data pipelines, supporting production systems, and designing analytics solutions used across engineering and product teams. You will play a key role in Databricks development, Redshift administration, engineering analytics, and behavior analytics ingestion. You will also provide operational support for critical data pipelines and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, data quality, and platform reliability. What You’ll Do Databricks & Cloud Engineering Develop, optimize, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake. Implement scalable ETL/ELT patterns for structured, semi-structured data. Optimize performance, costs, and reliability of Databricks jobs and clusters. Redshift Engineering & Administration Perform Redshift administration tasks including cluster management, and database administration. Build and optimize Redshift models, tables, and complex SQL queries to support analytics and reporting. Monitor and improve Redshift performance, storage efficiency, and query optimization. Engineering Analytics & Telemetry Pipelines Develop and maintain data pipelines powering engineering analytics dashboards and metrics. Work with stakeholders to define and compute engineering KPIs (deploy frequency, MTTR, quality metrics, etc.). Own ingestion and processing pipelines for behavior analytics and product telemetry, including: Matomo – event and tracking data ingestion FullStory – behavioral analytics & session replay data Pendo – product usage, feature analytics, and event telemetry Production Support & Reliability Provide L2/L3 support for existing data pipelines, ensuring high availability and rapid incident resolution. Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring issues. Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability best practices across data systems. Work closely with platform teams to ensure compliance with LexisNexis operational standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the Data Engineering Lead, Product Management, Analytics, Architecture, and Engineering teams to deliver data solutions that meet evolving business needs. Translate technical problems into actionable design documents, code, and operational processes. Support downstream consumers with data availability, quality, and documentation. Technical Skills Required Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake. Advanced proficiency in SQL, including performance tuning and optimization at scale. Experience with AWS, especially S3, Lambda, IAM, Redshift, Glue, and Step Functions. Strong experience in Redshift administration (performance tuning, distribution/sort keys, cluster optimization). Solid Python programming skills for ETL/ELT pipelines, automation, and data engineering tasks. Experience working with telemetry, clickstream, or behavioral analytics data. Familiarity with Matomo, FullStory, and/or Pendo data processing. Experience in production support environments (incident management, RCA, monitoring). Understanding of data quality, lineage, cataloging, and governance frameworks. Good to Have Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or event streaming. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks. Exposure to engineering analytics (e.g., DORA metrics, developer productivity insights). Experience with AWS EMR for distributed data processing workloads. U.S. National Base Pay Range: $93,400 - $155,700. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. If performed in Ohio, the pay range is $88,700 - $147,900.
