The Energy Practice at Frontier Economics We help governments, regulators, energy companies, and their advisors navigate the changing energy landscape. Our team leads in energy and environmental economics, providing expert advice on policy, regulation, valuation, and competition. We develop effective policies and regulatory frameworks and help businesses understand the commercial impact of change. With experience in over 50 countries, we cover all aspects of energy markets across Europe and beyond. Drawing on in-house expertise in competition, finance, due diligence, and disputes, we deliver robust, evidence-based insights that support better decisions. The Senior Consultant Role Our Senior Consultants play a key role in helping clients make clear, evidence-based decisions that shape policy, markets and strategy. You’ll use your analytical skills and economic expertise to turn data into meaningful insights and deliver work that has real impact. You will design frameworks, interpret results, and contribute fresh ideas that address clients’ needs. As a Senior Consultant, you’ll take ownership of significant workstreams, manage tasks effectively, and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients. You’ll also support the growth of others by sharing your knowledge and providing constructive feedback. How You Will Make an Impact Join our team of collaborative and talented economists who enjoy tackling complex economic questions. You will play an important role in delivering high-quality economic analysis and advice to our clients. You can expect to do the following: Analysis and Problem Solving Design and deliver clear analytical approaches for a variety of projects, applying economic theory to practical challenges. Develop frameworks for both straightforward and complex issues with minimal senior input. Review and integrate contributions from team members, ensuring quality and consistency in final outputs. Coach and mentor colleagues, sharing advanced techniques and delegating tasks appropriately. Communication Lead client meetings, listen actively and respond thoughtfully to different perspectives. Structure, review and refine reports and presentations to a high standard. Provide feedback and guidance to help colleagues improve their writing and presentation skills. Identify and resolve communication issues within the team and with clients. Project Management Scope and lead major workstreams, ensuring projects run to time, budget and agreed objectives. Manage project scope, deliverables and budgets alongside clients, with support from project managers where needed. Delegate tasks clearly and oversee colleagues’ work, keeping everyone informed and motivated. Seek feedback and use it to strengthen both your own work and the team’s. Client Relationships Build and maintain relationships that go beyond individual projects, keeping in touch with clients and wider networks. Spot opportunities for further work and cross-team collaboration, and help take these forward. Gather formal and informal feedback on projects and use it to add value. Ensure clients get the maximum benefit from our work by understanding how they plan to use it. Your Skills and Background We’re looking for economists who combine strong technical skills with clear communication and sound judgement. You’ll have the expertise to tackle complex economic questions, the confidence to influence clients and colleagues, and the drive to deliver high-quality work on time. You’ll also be a team player who supports and motivates others, helping us deliver practical insights and real impact for our clients. Essential skills and experience Fluency in French: Proficient in oral, written, and spoken communication. Expertise in Energy Economics, with several years of experience at an economics consultancy or regulator. Excellent communication skills and the credibility to influence a wide range of people. Strong project management skills; able to motivate teams and manage multiple projects effectively. Commercial awareness and good judgement to identify practical, value-adding solutions. Strong data skills, with the ability to interrogate information and generate useful insights.
