Following the successful development of Senior Care assistant role in our home was decided to add another member to our team. An amazing opportunity has arisen at Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home for the position of Senior Care Assistant on Nights, (one vacancy) who possesses a genuine commitment to providing high quality care to our residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse. It is a unique chance to work in a friendly and professional environment within our charitable organization. There is always support from our two nurses that are on duty all the time(3 carers are on the floor during night shift in our 40-bed unit). We currently have one full time senior carer on nights and and we are looking to recruit one more to have a better coverage every week. About you:Senior care assistant/Health care assistant with minimum 2 years experience in UKYou must have completed Level 3 in Adult Care or willing to do the course within 2 years of joining us!A professional, friendly attitude Quick learner, able to implement our staff values within the teamMotivated and enthusiastic on mentoring and coaching all the staffDrive and focus to provide excellent customer service and quality of careExcellent communication and interpersonal skillExperience and an up to date understanding of care service practices, legislation, regulations and standardsTo be pro-active and maintain a high standard of care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. To share in the responsibility within the nursing team for implementing and evaluating ‘total’ care of the resident and their families/friends.To enable residents and carers to maintain their individuality.To maintain confidentiality of information according to Nursing Home policy.Checking daily resident’s nutrition and if they had showers, baths and teeth brushed.Overseeing care department and be the first point of contact. Supervise time breaks and maintain safety and hygiene standards.To be calm and supportive when dealing with complex situation. Have good communication skills to motivate your team, to create a better atmosphere on the floor. ResponsibilitiesBe the ‘Moving and handling’ trainer and supervise all the staff to ensure correct procedures are always followed. Flag to management team any concerns.Be the ‘Fire marshal’ throughout the shift in case of an evacuation procedure and do all the regular fire safety checks.Be the shift ‘Team leader’ for all the carers and organize them accordingly to the resident’s needs.Attend daily flash meetings while on the shift.Assist and oversee carer’s documentation with regular check throughout the shift.Ensure smooth running of the mealtimes, organising the team and helping with dining room and tray service.Complete diary checks on each shift and weekly stock checks.Provide catheter care, leg bag changes and pads.Train all the new starters and support them to integrate within the team.You must possess qualities of empathy, compassion, and patience while providing high-quality care.Maintain confidentiality of information according to our Nursing Home's policy.Hours - nights Nights Full time - 40 hours/4 shifts per week (including weekends), we might consider 3 nights(30 hours) as well.Shifts: 21:30 - 08:00 (10 hours) *Only one vacancy available* About Your benefits:Salary - The rate of pay per hour is £13.31 (Mon-Fri) with a 20% enhancement at weekends (£15.97 - Sat-Sun).
