Job Description What is the opportunity? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Retail Investments Technology, we are looking for a Sr. Business Analyst who will support the delivery of Acquisitions and Risk-based Business initiatives that are transformational, innovative, and regulatory in nature. The role is responsible for the execution of all aspects of requirements delivery- planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation, management, and support - for changes to Business Areas and Technology. Elicit and analyze Business requirements and create documentation such as current (as is) and future state (to be) business & systems processes, user stories, story maps, data catalogs, business rules, use cases, and user interface design, to provide support during the development and testing phases. Performing detailed analysis and providing inputs to solution design - identifying, tracking, escalating, and/or resolving data and systems issues. Works collaboratively with business partners, Architects, Development, and Quality Engineering Teams in the Retail Investments team and multiple IT teams (i.e., source and downstream systems). Facilitate and lead conversations on scope and design, with business stakeholders as well as tech leads, to document detailed requirements layer mapping for coding Document requirements, including source system analysis; analyze and acquire data from primary and secondary data sources – creating mapping specifications for use by development resources Document plans for collection, data cleansing, and normalization of data, as well as conduct Impact Analysis for the data/other technical requirements to be migrated/integrated. Evaluate data identified from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and classification of data in logical categories Comfortable in using agile tools and processes to deliver solutions collaboratively and acting as a liaison between the squads and other technical and non-technical stakeholders. Stay on top of the Jira board to align Jira stories with the overarching Goals, identify gaps that could hamper delivery, and flag risks promptly. Contributes to successful project completion within budget and on time, by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies. Adhere to enterprise Agile and DevOps methodology in requirements planning, analysis, and documentation What do you need to succeed? Must have: Minimum 5 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst or Data Engineer role, with an in-depth understanding of application development projects with a UI component Independently lead requirements workshops for data movement and transformation across various data assets, with knowledge of other ETL tools as well being a plus. Strong technical understanding of ETL concepts and hands-on experience with more than one ETL tool. Proficiency in using SQL for querying large amounts of banking data for data comparison, identifying lineage, and problem analysis. Experience in data mapping between systems for integration. Proven experience with Agile methodology delivering large-scale complex projects/programs, preferably in the Canadian financial sector. Previous BSA/ development experience required with domain knowledge in banking / Retail Investment products, data warehousing, data models, and data integration. Experience in requirements planning and prioritization and requirements elicitation techniques such as Data Analysis, Document Analysis, Interviews, Facilitated Workshops, Observation, and Prototyping. Very good communication skills, verbal and written, for both technical and business audiences. Experience working with Jira and Confluence. Familiarity with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) Nice-to-have Relevant college, university, or post-graduate degree in Business Analysis or related education (CBAP, PMI-PBA) Experience in Business, acquisition, and/or regulatory projects What’s in it for you?
