Job Description What is the opportunity? This role will be part of the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Business and Client Services team that supports pre and post trade deal processing for RBC Capital Markets securities trading businesses and its clients. This role ensures that trades are captured into the settlement system, confirmed with clients, and that they cover post trade processes. The operations role is a first line of defence to trading businesses, ensuring accurate books and records are maintained, whilst providing a seamless client experience. RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements. What will you do? Ensure all daily tasks / controls are completed in line with the departmental procedures. Assist the Associate Director / Director on projects, process improvements or new business initiatives as requested. Ensure all Front Office trade flow is received and fully processed in the Back Office system. Monitor all system queues and ensure they are cleared throughout the day. Ensure all position, trade and other relevant reconciliations are performed, breaks are notated and cleared as appropriate and passed for sign off on a daily basis. Provide best in class client services to both internal and external clients by ensuring their queries are responded to within agreed timeframes. Continue to develop product / market knowledge to ensure daily processes are appropriate to reduce operational risks. Escalate any unusual behaviour, as well as any processing issues to the Associate Director or above in a timely manner following the Operations Escalation Policy. What do you need to succeed? Must-have General office experience within Operations/Finance industry. A calm and logical approach to all situations. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Effective Communicator, both verbal and written. A high degree of PC literacy and experience, including Word and Excel. Ability to work under pressure against unmovable deadlines. Nice-to-have Knowledge of Equity & Fixed Income related products. Experience using any of: Gloss TE, Fidessa or TRAX. What is in it for you?
