Temporary position for 12 months Desjardins is seeking a team-oriented leader to join our Claims Operations team as Section Manager of the Claim Reporting Specialists. In this role, you will lead and support a team responsible for managing the intake and reporting of auto or property claims, ensuring operational excellence and a seamless experience for our members and clients. This position requires someone who excels at developing talent, coaching individuals and teams, and building a collaborative, high-performing team environment. You will play a key role in aligning your team’s work with the broader goals of the Claims Division, while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. More specifically, you will be required to: Drive Strategic Execution: Collaborate with your manager and peers to implement the strategic priorities of the Claims Division. Support change initiatives and contribute to the Claims vision of a Sweeter Future. Manage Operations: Oversee daily claim reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with service standards and organizational goals. Build Effective Teams: Create an environment of trust, collaboration, and shared purpose, ensuring the team is engaged, aligned, and equipped to deliver results. Foster a High-Performance Culture: Manage individual and team performance through clear objectives, coaching, and continuous feedback, while promoting accountability and results-driven practices. Champion Client Satisfaction: Ensure that all service activities meet or exceed expectations, delivering a consistent and positive experience for members and clients. Engage Stakeholders: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure smooth operations and member/client satisfaction. What you bring to the table Bachelor’s degree in related field. A minimum of five years of experience including one year of experience in a management role or as part of a leadership development pool. Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered Experience in a management, coaching, mentoring, or leadership role Experience in Property & Casualty insurance Expert knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English speaking partners, members and/or clients Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation (completed or in progress) Intermediate knowledge of the Auto and Property Claims operations and the provincial insurance contracts of the regions of Ontario, Alberta, and Atlantic Canada.
