The Role<\/b> As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of an assigned school campus. You’ll work closely with the school administration and custodial team to ensure the facility is ready for students, staff, and community events every day.
<\/p>

What You’ll Do<\/b>
<\/p>

• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, hallways, offices, and common areas (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal)
  <\/li>
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and sanitary supplies
  <\/li>
• Set up and break down rooms for meetings, events, and cafeteria use
  <\/li>
• Perform minor maintenance tasks (replace light bulbs, unclog toilets\/sinks, basic furniture repair)
  <\/li>
• Secure the building at the end of shift (lock doors, turn off lights, arm alarms)
  <\/li>
• Respond to emergency cleaning needs (spills, bodily fluids, weather\-related issues)
  <\/li>
• Strip, wax, and buff floors; shampoo carpets as scheduled
  <\/li>
• Assist with grounds upkeep (empty exterior trash cans, pick up litter, light snow removal if applicable)
  <\/li>
• Follow all OCPS safety protocols and proper use of cleaning chemicals (training provided)

  Who You Are<\/b>
  <\/p>

  • High school diploma or GED preferred (not required)
    <\/li>
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, or cleaning experience is a plus but not required – we will train the right candidate
    <\/li>
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, standing for long periods)
    <\/li>
  • Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in keeping facilities spotless
    <\/li>
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
    <\/li>
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
