JOB SUMMARY A magical story awaits our guests at The Peak of Christmas from November 24th to December 25th. This annual event transforms Grouse Mountain into Vancouver’s North Pole, where guests can meet Santa in his workshop, experience the enchanting light walk, glide across the Mountaintop Skating Pond, and much more! The Santa’s Workshop Photographer will be stationed inside Santa’s Workshop on the mountaintop to capture photos of children and families with Santa. Full Time and Part Time seasonal roles are available, please note the Santa’s Workshop photographer position is a one-month contract to support the execution of The Peak of Christmas event, with possibility for continued employment within other departments following contract end. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Use professional-grade camera and equipment (provided) to capture high-quality, well-composed photographs of children and families with Santa Interact with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, helping them feel comfortable and ensuring a positive experience during the photo session Work closely with other staff members, including Santa and support staff, to coordinate and execute photoshoots seamlessly Other duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This role will assist the Events Team Leads with the supervision of Events Representatives while on shift. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES Basic understanding of DSLR cameras, setting up a tripod, and using an external flash Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure Basic understanding of Adobe Lightroom Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor when working with children and families Strong attention to detail for capturing high-quality photos Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be personable, friendly and outgoing with a positive attitude High energy and strong work ethic Open availability on weekdays and weekends during the Peak of Christmas (November 25th – December 24th) Successful applicants over the age of 19 will be required to provide results of a clear background check valid within six months of the hire date before starting work. Grouse Mountain will assist with this process if the applicant does not have a valid background check. WORKING CONDITIONS Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
