About the Role Level: 2 Department: Distribution Location: London (Hybrid) Contract: Permanent This is an exciting position for a candidate who has an appetite to learn and who may have aspirations for career growth within a distribution environment, with the opportunity to learn more about the BDM role with a view, where a vacancy exists, to becoming a trainee and then fully fledged Business Development Manager in the future. There will be a requirement to gain industry qualifications if not already held. About the Role Reporting to the Head of Key Accounts, the role-holder will be working with the Business Development team, supporting the work we do with professional services firms (solicitors and accountants), with many aspects of the sales role. Key Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Support the team and individuals within it with required information to drive new business opportunities both pre and post-sale Support the development of regular Quilter Cheviot communications specifically to intermediaries identified by the distribution team Collate information on intermediaries from various sources available to Quilter Cheviot, to support the distribution team in building and maintaining panels Liaise with other functions on behalf of the distribution team to support the distribution of materials, messaging and information Attend distribution team meetings to capture and act on action points Identify and undertake research which would be useful to the distribution team on given topics, such as competitor analysis Review the industry publications for emerging themes and communicate for wider use in the distribution team Arrange meetings/events and attend various events as support to the distribution team both virtually and physically then to assist in the follow up of events by providing data on the attendees, CPD certificates and arranging follow-up meetings Edit content on the Distribution Intranet (Sharepoint) and Training (Degreed) web pages Build relationships with solicitors, accountants and financial advisers, deal with incoming queries effectively and assist in booking meetings when requested by the distribution team Assist with the collection of management information. About You You will be willing to gain a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services and the circumstances in which they may be appropriate for existing and potential clients. This role is for a candidate who is looking to learn about distribution and the sales process by working with solicitors, accountants and financial advisers. The role can offer career progression by developing to become a Business Development Manager within the professional services/intermediary market. The role requires the candidate to manage their own workload. The candidate will be required to work closely with all the distribution team and colleagues across Quilter Cheviot’s regional offices, when appropriate. You will be reliable, adaptable with an openness to learning. You will be capable of working independently. A background in Distribution/Sales/Marketing would be of benefit. Ideally you will have a basic understanding of financial services with a willingness to extend knowledge to become appropriately qualified. You will effectively balance priorities to meet agreed deadlines for individual and teamwork and demonstrates flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
