About the Role We are seeking a Safety Manager to lead and maintain our Safety Management System (SMS) for helicopter operations. This is a fixed-term opportunity (to cover Maternity leave) to make a real impact on aviation safety, ensuring compliance with UK CAA and ICAO standards while promoting a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Safety Management System (SMS): Administer, and maintain the SMS in accordance with UK CAA and ICAO requirements. Monitor safety performance indicators and produce regular safety reports for senior management. Embed hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes into operational activities. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with UK CAA and company safety regulations. Liaise with regulatory bodies during audits, inspections, and investigations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation safety legislation and best practices. Incident & Accident Investigation: Lead investigations into operational safety occurrences, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Maintain records of all safety reports and ensure timely closure of findings. Safety Promotion & Training: Deliver safety training and awareness programs for flight crew and ground staff. Promote a Just Culture and encourage voluntary safety reporting. Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response procedures. Coordinate safety drills and ensure readiness for crisis situations. Management of Change: Develop and maintain MOC procedures. Coordinate MOCs and ensure all risks are identified and mitigated as reasonably as practicable. Collaboration & Communication: Act as the focal point for safety-related matters across all departments. Work closely with Flight Operations and CAMO teams to integrate safety into all activities. What We’re Looking For Proven experience in aviation safety management within helicopter operations Strong knowledge of UK CAA regulations and ICAO standards Expertise in SMS principles, risk management, and safety investigations Excellent communication and leadership skills Completion of an SMS course or equivalent qualification Why Join Us?
